This offers an ideal opportunity for a candidate who has some experience but wishes to develop their skills in precision engineering and design. The projects have great variety and are invariably interesting from an engineering perspective, and the successful candidate will benefit from the outstanding experience and capabilities of the design team.
Responsibilities
· Optical design and development of simple and complex Electro-Optical Systems
· Contribute to systems architecture and requirements
· Conduct lens and optical performance analysis/simulations
· Ensure quality and consistency of detailed design, including numerical calculations, tolerance analysis, etc
· Support the integration and test of Electro-Optical Systems
· Involvement in reviews of optical designs in accordance with business and industry standards and knowledge of ISO10110
Requiredskillsandexperience
· Experience with modelling geometric optics with optical modelling software - including Zemax
· A proven understanding of classical optics principles
· Excellent attention to detail
· Problem solving using a structured, logical approach to investigate issues and problems in an effective manner
· Experience of Microsoft365
Otherconsiderations
· Following a 3 month probationary period where daily attendance in the office will be required, a hybrid working model would be offered. The successful candidate would be expected to be office based for a minimum of three days per week (average).
· Good communication skills are required – both oral and written
· Beck is a small business – the ability to be self-sufficient and to take responsibility and contribute beyond the specific job role is important
